Ripening systems

Technical design

Heating, cooling, airflow and utility connections at a glance – a starting point for planning your system.

TECHNICAL DESIGN

Utilities, capacities and sizes – clearly comparable.

The following values represent proven SORGO standard configurations and selected project versions. They provide a sound planning basis; the final design always follows the product, process and local utility supply.

●

Capacity

From compact ripening rooms to systems for approximately 250 t of product and room heights up to 6 m.

●

Airflow

Reversing alternating airflow with shaped nozzles for uniform drying and ripening.

●

Energy

Enthalpy control proportionally uses suitable outside air and reduces unnecessary cooling and heating demand.

01

Heating

Heating and humidification are designed separately for each project. A steam coil for heating the process air does not imply a cooking function; humidification steam is a separate matter.

02

Cooling

Water shower and mist, glycol circuit, Freon or ammonia. Compact stainless steel finned-tube coils increase the effective surface area and provide high cooling capacity in a confined space; capacity and evaporation temperature are calculated for the product load and desired cooling time.

04

Utilities & interfaces

Fresh and exhaust air, water, condensate, compressed air, electrical connected load and data connectivity are defined as a complete interface package. SORGO X1 and SORGO Inspect enable recipe management, trends and documentation.

Project planning note

All specifications are planning guidelines, not a guarantee of properties. Configuration and consumption depend on factors including product temperature, loading, climate system, local regulations and permitted refrigerants. Larger and double-row systems are available on request.
